Dear Supporter,
Last year the Michigan House of Representatives passed House Bill (HB-4493), which mandated Genocide education in public schools, including for the first time, the Armenian, Greek, and Assyrian Genocide. A tremendous victory for social justice that was possible thanks to the hard work of the ANCA and the Armenian-American community of Michigan.
However, that victory wasn’t without its battles. Specifically a campaign of Genocide Denial led by the Turkish American Cultural Association of Michigan (TACAM), and its former Board Member Mehmet Erdem Yaya, the Associate Professor of Economics at Eastern Michigan University.
